I am intentionally not capitalizing america in this and a recent post. It's not a sign of disrespect, it's just that I cannot rationalize it. I made the decision to intentionally not capitalize christianity a while ago. I read a book where the author asked why our culture capitalizes christianity. I thought about that, and decided I was going to stop. One small step in breaking down the arrogance of christians. Given my position on church and state, I didn't think it would to fair to give more honor to my state of residence than my religious orientation, so I decided that I would also not capitalize america. Just wanted to pass that along if anyone wondered why they weren't capitalized.
